Nicholas “Nick” Browne joined GAC Bunker Fuels Limited, a division of the Dubai-based GAC Group, as Business Development Manager in 2009 and was responsible for full credit risk and business development of the bunker trading business.
In 2012, he was promoted to GAC Bunker Fuels’ Global Director and is responsible for its global P&L.
Under Nick’s stewardship, GAC Bunker Fuels became the first bunker company to align with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The company has set a net carbon zero target for 2030 with an aim to transit progressively to alternative fuels such as LNG, methanol, ammonia and biofuel to reduce the Scope 3 per mt CO2e emissions of its clients. It is working with customers and suppliers to meet the greenhouse gas reduction targets set by the International Maritime Organization for 2030 by providing them with cleaner, cost-effective marine fuels.
Nick has also been appointed as the global head for GAC Sustainability Working Group formed to chart the Group’s sustainability journey and give motivated colleagues from around the GAC world the opportunity to turn their good intentions and ideas into verifiable actions.
