Paul is a Managing Associate in Ince’s Dubai office and acts for clients on a wide range of contentious and non-contentious matters within the maritime industry. He combines hands-on private practice knowledge with in-house experience, and a reputation for being particularly commercially minded. Paul is highly regarded for his ability to negotiate difficult settlements and complex deal closings, with his clients including shipowners, traders, brokers, banks, charterers, insurers, P&I Clubs, entrepreneurs, funds, and private investors.
Paul specializes in fleet expansion, and structuring and advising on vessel sale and purchase transactions, as well as on the drafting of bareboat charterparty agreements, joint ventures, sale and leaseback, and other types of vessel ownership structures.
Throughout his career, Paul has been involved in complex matters before the courts in various jurisdictions and has been involved in multiple international arbitrations primarily under LMAA Rules.
Paul has previously been recognised as a key lawyer for shipping by Legal500 (2021), DIFC Young Lawyer of the Year (2018), and Seatrade Young Person of the Year (2016).
